After arriving at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), I wanted the easiest and most stress-free way to get downtown.
I was at Terminal 1, Gate D24, and I had my luggage with me. My destination was downtown Toronto.
🚆 Finding the UP Express
After leaving the gate, I followed the signs for Baggage Claim / Arrivals.
Once I got to the arrivals area, I simply looked for the signs saying:
“Train to City” 🚆

I followed the signs for UP Express. I didn’t need to go outside or take a taxi.
The signs were easy to follow, and I eventually arrived at the UP Express station in Terminal 1.
How I paid
I didn’t buy a paper ticket.
I simply used my credit card / Apple Pay at the UP Express gate.
I tapped my card to enter, got on the train, and headed straight to Union Station.
If you already have a PRESTO card, you can use that instead. Just remember to tap when you enter and tap again when you exit.
Pearson → Downtown

The train ride to Union Station takes about 28 minutes.
For me, this was much easier than taking a taxi or worrying about Toronto traffic.
I could sit down, relax, look out the window, and enjoy the beginning of my trip.
I My little travel tip

If you’re arriving at Pearson and heading downtown, don’t overthink it.
Just remember:
D24 → Arrivals → “Train to City” → UP Express → Union Station
That’s it.
For a traveler with luggage, I found the UP Express to be one of the easiest ways to get from Pearson Airport to downtown Toronto.
If you still don’t know,
Ask someone.
That’s it.
